1. Options, Options, More Options…
When you choose an Android phone, you have an endless amount of things to like for the phone. Do you want a phone that can do everything normally along with taking good pictures and buy a phone whose main focus is the camera. Do you want a rugged phone that can be dropped multiple times? Do you want a phone that has a 4K resolution screen instead of a 720-1080p screen? Do you want a phone with small or large form factor? Android phones cover all this plus so much. This is the beauty of Android phones - you can get one that fits you.![]() |

With an iPhone, well, it's just an iPhone. You get whatever is in it. Sure, you might get 2 or 3 options for smaller or larger phones, which have slightly different hardware, but that's the case. The camera, screen, internal hardware, etc. is going to be similar from model to model basis.
2. Customization
My favorite part about Android phones - customization. If you are able to customize your phone, then Android is the way to go. Don't like the whole launcher that drives your phone? Download the new launcher. Want to make your phone a layout like a Windows Phone? Yes, you can also. Then, with the release of each iOS version, Apple copies many things that Android has had for a long time?
3. Hardware
I believe the hardware category actually strengthens the debate between Android and Apple. People can spend all day debating which software (operating system) is better for this reason or for that, but you cannot argue for better and faster hardware for cheaper price. For simplicity, I'm going to focus on two phones only for this category: the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S10 +, as they are the current flagship phones for both Apple and Samsung. Keep in mind that the iPhone 11 Pro Max was released in September of 2019 and the Samsung Galaxy S10 + was released in March of 2019 which means the iPhone 11 Pro Max is 6 months new.
As you can see from the comparison of the spec, the Samsung Galaxy S10 + has much better specs than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. With a high density AMOLED beautiful screen like Specs, doubling the base storage (128 GB vs 64 GB), more RAM than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, a higher battery capacity, weighing about 2oz less and the fact that it has an ultrasonic Both the screen-fingerprint sensor and facial recognition, it should be a no-brainer that the Galaxy S10 + is a clear winner when it comes to hardware.
4. GOOGLE PLAY ™ STORE
The Google Play Store is awesome. It is well laid out, extremely user friendly, and offers just about any type of app you can think of. They use a very simple UI which is beautiful. It's easy to read, they show users what they want to see, and it's blind. I have used both Google Play Store and Apple App Store quite a lot. They are both very good app stores - better than the Amazon App Store, that's for sure.5. Other features
This section refers to other features that some Android phones provide that do not have iPhones ... up to the iPhone 7. They are like the "cherry on top" of all the other features listed. For example, some Android phones have some or all of the following features:Wireless / Fast Charging - Update: The iPhone X now has the ability to charge wirelessly - several years after Android.
Wireless charging upside down
3.5mm jack (yes, tons of people still use them, Apple)
IR (infrared) blaster for controlling devices
Haptic Feedback - Update: Android now has Haptic Feedback after 2 years on iPhone 7.
The ability to access all your files using your phone as a mass storage device
even more...
As I said, not all Android phones have all of these things (some just have few or none), but the Galaxy S8 has all the things mentioned (except IR blaster). The iPhone 7 was the only iPhone from which anything has been released to this date when it was released. The Galaxy S5 had all these things many years ago…
